Medmain Inc. (Headquartered in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, CEO: Osamu Iizuka) is pleased to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bach Mai Hospital, E Hospital, and Thai Nguyen A Hospital, all located in Hanoi, Vietnam, for comprehensive business cooperation in the fields of digital pathology support and the utilization of medical AI.

This MOU aims to strengthen collaboration between Japan and Vietnam in the field of medical ICT. Through this agreement, Medmain Inc. will lead the introduction, pilot implementation, and nationwide deployment of its AI-powered, cloud-based digital pathology support system, “PidPort,” across medical institutions in Vietnam.

Background and Purpose of the Partnership
In recent years, Vietnam has seen a sharp increase in the demand for pathological diagnosis, driven by a growing prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as cancer. However, the country faces significant challenges, including a shortage of specialized pathologists and disparities in medical resources between regions. As a result, there is an urgent need to establish a diagnostic infrastructure that is both accurate and efficient.
In response to these challenges, Medmain aims to reduce the burden on healthcare professionals and enhance the quality of diagnosis through the digitalization of pathological images and AI-powered diagnostic support using its platform, PidPort. This MOU is expected to accelerate the introduction of advanced technologies, training programs, and collaborative research initiatives across medical institutions in Vietnam.

Future Outlook
Going forward, Medmain plans to expand collaboration with medical institutions, universities, and research organizations to deploy PidPort nationwide in Vietnam, based on the results of the pilot implementation. We will also support the development of training programs for medical professionals and optimize AI models in line with domestic medical guidelines in Vietnam.
