Medmain and SMC Sign Partnership to Launch AI-Powered Pathological Diagnosis Support in Vietnam

On July 1, 2025, Medmain Inc. (Headquartered in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, CEO: Osamu Iizuka), a developer and provider of AI-powered cloud system for digital pathology, and SMC Co., Ltd., Medical Tourism Japan Division, (Headquartered in Sapporo City, Hokkaido, Division Director: Mr. Katsuya Sakagami) which supports medical tourism and the overseas expansion of Japanese medical technologies, signed a partnership agreement to promote the research use of AI in the field of pathological diagnosis in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to advance the adoption of Japanese-style healthcare.
■Background and Purpose of the Partnership
Medmain Inc. has a corporate mission “To create a world where medical services can be accessed with technology anywhere, anytime”, and develops and provides PidPort, an AI-powered cloud system for digital pathology that is increasingly being adopted by medical institutions worldwide.
Meanwhile, SMC Co., Ltd., Medical Tourism Japan Division focuses on medical tourism and supporting the international expansion of Japan’s advanced medical technologies, while promoting medical collaboration with other countries, particularly in Asia.
This partnership aims to jointly promote the use of AI in the field of pathological diagnosis in Vietnam, and we will contribute to its advancement through the research and application of AI in local medical institutions.
